Art Gave Her Wings Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! I'm featuring the Art Gave Her Wings and Victorian Borders stamps on this elegant blue and gold tag, for Red Rubber Designs!

First I created a sky background on a white tag with some watered down Distress Spray Stain (Broken China). Then I applied some bold Dylusions Paints (London Blue and After Midnight) along the bottom and right side of my tag, to really show off the gold embossing with the Victorian Borders Cling Mounted Stamp. By adding a strip of masking tape at a 45 degree angel before embossing,  I was able to create a mitered border, making my corner look seamless.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink, and ART and the grommet on top, embossed in gold, using Ranger's Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder, which I also used for the borders. Then I mounted my tag onto a slightly larger painted tag, and ran a line of Golden Rod Stickles along the edges.

I colored the image stamped in black with the Art Gave Her Wings stamp, using some sprays, paints, and markers, before popping her up over a fluffy cloud made from a cotton ball. Then  I added another layer to emboss the crown with some blue bling. She reminds me of myself as child, with my head up in the clouds, and a pencil or crayon in my hand. Some things never change! Lol!

     Thanks for stopping by!

January Art Journal ~ FotoBella DT

In the spirit of the New Year, I thought I'd try something new, so I bought an art journal to enhance my creativity. I started out with two pages, but messed up the first one so bad, that I tore it out and threw it away. Once I got going though, this page came together pretty quickly, and was so much fun to do!

I sprayed my entire page with a little water, and a couple of Distress Spray Stains (Broken China and Hickory Smoke).

Then I used an older tree stencil to mask the bottom, spraying it again with the same colors. Not wanting to waste any sprays on the stencil, I pressed it onto my page, repeating the process a few times.

I also masked the year and month using the older Tim Holtz alphabet mask with the same sprays. Then I used a white Lindy's spray to paint snow along the tops and sides, and outlined them with a couple of gel pens. I actually thought it was done at that point, but once I took photos realized it needed something more. So I took the smallest Bo Bunny Palette Knife to apply a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium Crazing over the letters and numbers, which produced the icy effect I was going for. To enhance the crackling, I used a paintbrush with some watered down Broken China Distress Spray Stain, wiped it away on top to reveal the snow, and painted icicles along the bottoms.

After adding some white spray to my page, I embossed the snowflakes using Bo Bunny's Snowflakes Stamp with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.
It all came together perfectly!

Thanks for looking, and stop by FotoBella for all of the new goodies that are coming out!

Metallic Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! I'm back with a birthday card where I combined some metallics with stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

I took my design inspiration from Sketch #3 for the January Card Sketch Challenge @

My color inspiration came from the January Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang, which brought all of these metallics together!

I started by spraying my background with Lindy's Brushed Nickel and Black Orchid Silver, finishing the edges with Queen Sheba's Silver Embossing Powder. Then I used a piece of cream cardstock to create a bokeh effect with my sprays and stamps. With a small circular foam brush, I applied some sprays (Clam Bake Beige, Golden Doubloons, A Bit o' Bubbly, Brushed Nickel, Black Orchid Silver, and Sidewalk Chalk) overlapping part of my circles.  Then I used Queen Sheba's Silver Embossing Powder again to stamp the larger rings with the Background Soup Stamp. The smaller rings were embossed with Twilight Bronze Slate using the Build-A-Background Stamp. Finally I punched around the edges with three different sized circle punches, and embossed them with Twilight Bronze Slate.

To allow the bokeh effect to show through, I made a banner out of some sheer ribbons, and machine-stitched the edges with silver.

As soon as I saw Lindy's image, I knew I had to add some balloons! Originally I wanted to make shakers out of them, so I could add confetti, but didn't have any clear acetate. So instead, I cut some balloons with my Cricut, colored them again with the same sprays, and added clear gesso with small beads to the bottoms. I embossed around the edges with Twilight Bronze Slate and Queen Sheba's Silver, using the Sweet Sayings Stamp to emboss the sentiment with Midnight Pewter. For some shine and dimension, I added a coat of Glossy Accents, and finished it up with some raffia bows and hand-stitched strings.

Victorian Thank You Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Thank you for stopping by again! I'm so pleased to share my full Victorian Thank You card for Red Rubber Designs DT!

Besides inks and embossing powders, this whole card was colored using Walnut Ink 2-pack Cupcake Spritzers. After using both sprays on the background, I sprayed it again with the pink (Cherry Blossom) onto the Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil for a faded Victorian wallpaper look.

Then I tore a piece of cream tissue paper, and stamped it with the Vintage Background stamp using Burnt Umber Palette Ink for the script, and Belle Rose on the top right. I colored the edges with the brown (Java) spritzer, and adhered the tissue paper with Tim Holtz' Distress Collage Medium (Vintage). The rest of the stamping was embossed using Lindy's Stamp Gang Twilight Bronze Slate, and I used the Victorian Borders Cling Mounted Stamp across the front.

The flowers were embossed with the Medallions stamp, with Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the centers.

The large sentiment was embossed with the Thank You stamp, and I finished it off with distressed edges and machine stitching. Thanks for looking!

Try it on Tuesday ~ A Tissue ( I stamped script onto tissue paper)
The Card Concept ~ #64 Pretty Things ( I was inspired by the flowers, and colors, and would call my card a mix of shabby chic and vintage, and classy and elegant)

2017 Tag ~ FotoBella DT

Happy New Year! Did you know that copper is the hot new metal for 2017? It's been a fave of mine for awhile, so I used it on this tag along with some of the new colors like orange and blue/green.

Besides being my first project of the year, this is also my first project using Dylusions Paints, which are so vibrant and easy to use. I used a baby wipe to apply Pure Sunshine, Vibrant Turquoise, and Melted Chocolate onto a Ranger Manila Tag. Then I added some drips with Wild Honey Distress Spray Stain, and stamped the background with the Prima Salvage District #2 Stamp in black. The numbers were masked with Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stain using Prima's Salvage District Clock Stencil, which I also used to emboss the larger clocks.

Then I embossed the smaller clocks onto cream cardstock, colored again with the same Dylusions Paints, fussy-cut them, and coated them with Glossy Accents. To some of the clocks I added small black brads that I embossed with copper.

The date was done with Ranger's Cargo Alphabet Stencil using Prima's Black Gesso. I added small beads to the gesso while it was wet, and once dry, covered it with Copper Stickles, which I also used to outline my tag. Then I backed it with some recycled netting and torn mulberry paper mounted on black cardstock, and tied it off with some copper fibers.

Thanks for looking, and shop FotoBella for all of these supplies and more!

Emerald Creek Dares ~ #4 Bring on the New ( I used my new Dylusions Paints, a couple of Distress Spray Stains, stencil, and stamps).
