Ginger Joy Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Holidays! Today I'm featuring the Ginger Joy Cling Mounted Stamp from Red Rubber Designs! Details can be found on the Red Rubber Designs Blog.

The background was stamped with Candied Apple Distress Ink using the Gingham Background stamp, with a strip of sheer ribbon to allow the pattern to show.

I made the tag to look like a cookie sheet, with scored lines along the edges. Then I stamped and embossed the gingerbread man onto Cork Paper, which gave it the PERFECT texture, using the Ginger Joy stamp, with paper piecing embossed in red, and colored with sprays and paints. For some more dimension, I used black puffy paint on his eyes.

The sentiment was embossed in white using the Contemporary Greetings stamp, with some rick rack over it, and tied up with some ribbon.

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful holiday!

Vintage Santa Card Set ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! I'm back to share a set of Christmas cards featuring the Vintage Santa Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration came from the December Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com using Sketch #2.

The colors were inspired by the festive December Color Challenge @ Lindy's Stamp Gang!

I started by coloring a sheet of 12 X 12 cream cardstock with Magicals (Rizzo's Rowdy Red, Greased Lightnin' Green, and Drop Dead Gorgeous Green) and some water, which produced a beautiful effect. Once dry I stamped the Vintage Santa image all over it, in order to make multiple cards with unique color effects.

I cut a strip of black cardstock to mimic Santa's belt, with a letter tucked into it, stamped with Vintage Script, and colored with different Lindy's sprays (Brushed Nickel, Black Orchid Silver,  Pineapple Paradise, Golden Doubloons, Cathedral Pines Green, and Ponderosa Pines Olive). For some more variation, I added different striped ribbons and colors of bling.

The sentiment was embossed with Lindy's Purely White Embossing Powder, and also comes in the cling mounted Vintage Christmas stamp set, which also includes the snowflakes that I stamped onto my Scarlet card base.

The green one is my fave! Thanks for looking!

Mini Medallions Winter Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Instead of stamping snowflakes on this winter birthday card, I decided to use the Mini Medallions Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs!

I took my inspiration from the November Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com with this beautiful bonus sketch!

The background was done with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Sassy Sapphire and some silver sprays. Without attaching it, I placed a large snowflake onto the wood strip of paper, and masked it with silver sprays. Then I lined up the snowflake onto my background and masked it with white gesso. Once dry, I distressed and machine-stitched the edges. Next, I layered it with a snowflake die covered with Stickles, and a leftover flower that I made using my Water Flower Tutorial. I just added some Blending Solution to lighten up the alcohol ink. In the center, I added a chipboard circle covered with gesso, and embossed with the Mini Medallions stamp. For some more sparkle, I added silver glittery branches, and some bling to the middle of my medallion.

I also embossed another design from the Mini Medallions stamp onto a chipboard circle, placed onto a chipboard snowflake that I covered with gesso, dry painted, and applied some Distress Crazing Medium to.

The sentiment was embossed onto a wood banner piece that I also covered with white gesso, using the Sweet Sayings Unmounted Stamp. I finished it off with a mini silver brad.

Thanks for your visit, and be sure to visit  Red Rubber Designs for the Cyber Monday Sale!

Mister Penguin Shaker Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

When I saw this adorable Mister Penguin Stamp Set from Red Rubber Designs, I knew I had to use it for my son, who loves penguins! So I created this shaker card for him.

I cut the scallop frame with my Cricut Expression, covered it with Snow-Tex, and placed some clear acetate on the back, along with a thin frame of double-sided foam tape to enclose the glitter. Then I created the background scene by embossing the Mountain Scenery stamp set with glitter, and adding a couple of snowy hills, covered with Stickles. Mister penguin was colored with markers and Distress Inks, with some Clear Wink of Stella on the black and white parts. The fun part was adding the metallic stars and Diamond Dust, and adhering the frame to the background!

The snowflake strip was colored with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Broken China) onto white cardstock with a blending tool. Then I sprayed my snowflake (Vintage Santa) stamps with water, and pressed them all over my paper. Once dry, I embossed the snowflakes in white, adding some circles from the Cheery Christmas stamp set, along with the other snowflakes that were embossed onto black cardstock.

I also embossed the Vintage Santa stamp set for my sentiment, which I placed on a kraft board banner covered with black gesso to look like chalkboard. I love the contrast against the sparkly red velvet ribbon!

The tree was embossed in two steps, using the Oh Christmas Tree Cling Mounted Stamp, and topped off with a metallic star from the shaker. I can't wait to give this to my son!

Thanks for looking!

Masculine Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Black is my husband's favorite color, so I challenged myself to make him an all black card for his next birthday, and this was the result!

Since he loves soda the way I love coffee, I glued some bottle caps and soda tabs to a piece of corrugated cardboard, along with some black buttons. Then I went over everything with a heavy coat of Prima black gesso, waited for it to dry, and sprayed it with some black and silver sprays. Thinking it needed more texture, I added some strips of fibers in between the ridges.

On the base of my card, I embossed the Chicken Wire Background stamp from Red Rubber Designs with Lindy's Stamp Gang Queen Sheba's Silver Embossing Powder.

I used the same embossing powder for the sentiment stamped onto a piece of vellum with the Sweet Sayings Stamp Set. Around the edges, I rubbed a little bit of Inka Gold Platinum, along with touches on the bottle caps and gesso work.  The chipboard numbers were covered with black gesso, some black and silver sprays, and a coat of Tim Holtz' Crazing Medium for a little crackle. Then I added some Black Soot Distress Stickles for some sparkle, which also went over most of the gesso work.

It's hard to tell in these photos, but I embossed some phrases onto each bottle cap with the same silver embossing powder, as well as black, with the Sweet Sayings and Savvy Sayings Stamp Sets to spell out hugs & kisses, Happy Birthday, and I love you.

National Button Day ~ FotoBella DT

Happy National Button Day! It was founded by the National Button Society in 1938, as a celebration of all who enjoyed collecting and crafting with buttons. Being a former seamstress, I've been collecting buttons for much longer than I've been scrapping, and have many boxes and jars that also include ones that I've inherited over the years. But that doesn't stop me from buying new ones, and Bo Bunny ones are my favorite! So I created this page featuring Bo Bunny's Christmas Collage Papers to showcase these festive Buttons, in addition to some included in the Ephemera.

I stitched all of my buttons, along with the sides of this page, and around these adorable photos of my son when he was just 3 years old. The doilies were masked with Bo Bunny's White Gesso, and the yellow one done with Prima's Lace Doily #3 Stencil.

The edges of the Holly Jolly piece from the Noteworthy, were inked with Picket Fence Distress Ink, and popped up with the Chipboard flourish peeking out beneath it.

Then I used Abandoned Coral Distress Ink along the sides of my page, and edges of my title tag, which I finished with a Brad.

Thanksgiving Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Sunday scrappers! I'm sharing this Thanksgiving card featuring a few stamps from Red Rubber Designs, since it's less than two weeks away now.

I took my design inspiration from the November Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook. com, using Sketch #4.

The colors were inspired by The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #30 with this beautiful Fall color combo.

To loosely mimic the rocks from the image, I combined black and white gesso applied to TCW Well Rounded Stencil onto my background. Once dry, I went over it with a few sprays and mists, which produced a fabulous shimmer. I tucked a couple of stamped Sunflowers behind my main image, stamped with the Arboretum Collage Cling Mounted Stamp, colored again with sprays and mists.

The sentiment was stamped with the Contemporary Greetings Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, which covers most holidays and occasions, and is a must for all card makers!

All of the leaves were stamped, fussy-cut, and curled using the Nothing Is Better Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by!
